About Me
I am a graduate of Red Deer College and the Theatre Studies program, a graduate of Capilano University and their Studio Art program, a 4th degree Black Belt in Songahm Taekwondo where I taught at and owned a school in North Vancouver from 1999 to 2012. I am currently a student at the University of Lethbridge, in the Education program as a combined degree, Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Education. I am very excited to be in my first Professional Semester and cannot wait to see what happens next on the amazing journey that has been my Education career.
I grew up in Brooks, Alberta and at 17, moved to Red Deer for post-secondary school. After three years in Red Deer, I moved to Edmonton for a year to further pursue Art, Drama and Dancing. From there I moved to North Vancouver to attend Capilano University. After graduating I had the immense fortune of meeting Master Hallie Fraser, who introduced me to Songahm Taekondo and has been my mentor and guide ever since. Sadly, I suffered a career-ending injury that forced me to retire from martial arts. Saddened, but not undaunted, I have returned to school to continue pursuing my true passion: teaching kids, watching them learn and grow, and guiding them towards greatness. |
