Professional Growth
Learning how best to work within an organization is very important. As a martial artist, I'm a strong believer in the chain of command. You give respect to your seniors, you follow the rules, and if there is ever a conflict, you politely address it by going to your senior (be it a boss or a mentor). If I had an idea I thought would save time and money, instead of just implementing it, I would bring it to the attention of my seniors. There may be an aspect I have missed that might cause trouble down the road, or perhaps my idea has already been tried. Or it's a great idea, and my senior has better resources to make it happen. It's a win-win.
